Job Brief:
The Junior Accountant position involves handling essential accounting duties such as data entry, invoice processing, and financial record keeping. The role also includes filing documents, managing schedules, and supporting accounting operations. It is ideal for individuals with entry-level accounting experience and strong organizational skills.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Prepare all credit purchases or vendor payments according to the scheduled timeline.

Prepare cheque payments for purchase requests following company policy.

Serve as a liaison between the company and vendors, ERCA, and other stakeholders, assisting in the delivery of transfer letters, bank advice, and invoices.

Record and capture financial data in the company’s accounting system.

Handle and administer petty cash transactions responsibly.
-
Verify that invoices are sequential before posting transactions.

Develop and maintain a daily work plan and activity schedule.
Additional Responsibilities:

Verify all financial documents and prepare journal entries related to accounting functions.

Post transactions to the ledger and assist in preparing financial statements and month-end closings.

Post and process journal entries to ensure accurate recording of all business transactions.

Update accounts payable records and perform regular reconciliations.

Review expenses, payroll records, and other assigned financial data.

Maintain and update financial databases to ensure accurate and accessible information.

Prepare and submit weekly and monthly financial reports.

Support senior accountants in preparing monthly and yearly closings.
Terms of Employment:
Permanent employment upon successful completion of the probation period.
Salary:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Knowledge, Experience, and Skills Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

Proven experience in cost accounting and budgeting.

Strong understanding of GAAP and inventory accounting principles.

Experience with Peachtree or ERP systems.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
