📌 Job Vacancy: Customer Service Officer (Banking)
🔍 Job Purpose
To enhance customer satisfaction by delivering efficient, accurate, and courteous banking services, while supporting the branch’s resource mobilization efforts through cross-selling of the Bank’s products.
🧾 Key Duties and Responsibilities

Collect and deliver cash from and to the Till Administrator.

Receive and pay cash to customers after proper identification, verification, and system posting.

Perform account opening and closing activities.
-
Receive and process applications for Sweep, Standing Orders, Amendments, Refunds, and Revocations.
-
Prepare and issue cheque books, passbooks, and bank statements upon customer request.
-
Check, countersign, and process vouchers and standing instructions with supervisor approval.

Send credit summaries and outward cheques to Head Office.

Perform RTGS and bulk cheque clearance activities.
-
Assist customers at the counter with form completion, account opening, transfers, and payments.

Exchange notes and coins; sort, arrange, and bundle cash by denomination.

Balance daily transactions, reconcile physical cash, and journalize daily entries.

Validate original payment instruments against system records.
-
Collect cheque deposits and issue payment instruments.
-
Determine and collect service charges or arrange billing as required.
-
Process account closure requests and ensure zero balance confirmation.
-
Receive, resolve, or escalate customer complaints and inquiries appropriately.

Educate customers about the Bank’s products without compromising service delivery.

Record potential sales leads and refer them to relationship or account managers.
👤 About You
🎓 Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Management, Economics, or related fields.
💼 Experience
-
Minimum of 2 years relevant banking experience.
-
IFB training certification is an added advantage.
