Job Summary
The Community Facilitator (CF) reports directly to the Project Officer (PO) and is responsible for the implementation of Tree Aid Ethiopia (TAE) project activities. Also, providing support and guidance to the community and monitoring the project for quality of delivery and effectiveness are major tasks.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in the identification and selection of communities/beneficiaries to be included in TAE program in the target area.
- Ensure participation of target communities in the process of project implementation of the proposed activities.
- Closely works with Kebele level government institutions, Project Committee and other relevant groups to ensure their participation and contribution to the program/project
- Follow and monitor seedling plantation works, soil and water conservation activities, pitting activities and economic strengthening activities.
- Support NRM groups, non-timber forest enterprises (NTFPs)/village tree enterprises (VTEs), encourage, and facilitates their activities.
- Assess training needs of communities and partners, recommend suitable intervention and works.
- Facilitate training events and participate in the training as required.
- Handle inputs, tools, and control distribution in the assigned community.
- Follow up and support proper use of project equipment.
- Conduct regular field visits to NRM groups NTFEs/VTEs and community to follow up and provide support as needed
- Raise awareness and Ensure compliance of Tree AID’s Safeguarding and other policies.
- Facilitate field level surveys, data collection, and monitoring and field visit by government and other stakeholder in his/her respective kebele
Job Requirement
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Must have)
EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION: Diploma/BSc degree in agriculture, environment, agroforestry and related
EXPERIENCE: 2 years’ experience for BSc and 4 years for Diploma. Practical experience in community-based project implementation is an advantage
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Computer literacy in outlook, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Internet
- Understanding of a community-led process
- Understanding of the concept of community development
- Understanding of safety and safeguarding
LANGUAGES
- Excellent spoken and written English and must know local language, Oromiffa
