Duty station:- Cheshire Ethiopia, Hawassa Rehabilitation Center
Job Summary:- The junior druggist is responsible for preparing, dispensing medications, and counseling patients on their safe and effective use. Ensures medication accuracy, maintain compliance with local health regulations, and manage pharmacy inventory to support optimal patient care.
Specific duties and responsibilities
- Dispensing: Interprets and accurately fills prescriptions, verifying dosages, contraindications, and legality.
- Patient Counseling: Educates patients on medication administration, makes proper storage, explains potential side effects, and missed doses.
- Inventory Management: Oversees stock levels, monitors expiration dates, and applies principles like First-In, First-Out (FIFO).
- Compliance: Enforces infection control standards and strictly maintains records for restricted or controlled substances.
Collaboration: Communicates directly with physicians and healthcare providers to clarify prescriptions and resolves medication errors or coverage issues.
- Performs any other related duties that can facilitate effectiveness and efficiency of the eye health care project when ever assigned by his supervisor
Qualification:
- Diploma or BSc Degree in Pharmacy from a
- recognized college or university.
