Position Title: Microbiologist
Location: Chacha, Debire Birhan
ZAMG Business Plc is a diversified company engaged in multiple sectors. One of its business units, a Dairy Processing Company, is committed to producing high-quality pasteurized milk and dairy products that comply with both national and international food safety standards. The company is dedicated to product safety, consistency, and customer satisfaction through robust quality and food safety systems. To strengthen the Quality Assurance Department, we are looking for an experienced and motivated professional to join the team as a Microbiologist.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct microbiological analysis of raw milk, in-process samples, and finished dairy products in accordance with food safety regulations.

Perform environmental monitoring and surface hygiene checks in production, packaging, and storage areas.

Prepare and maintain culture media, reagents, and laboratory equipment following standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Operate and maintain key laboratory instruments such as autoclaves, incubators, colony counters, and microscopes.

Ensure proper sterilization, aseptic sampling, and testing practices to minimize contamination risks.

Accurately record, analyze, interpret, and report microbiological test results in a timely manner.

Identify and report non-conformities or contamination cases and suggest corrective measures.

Support the implementation and maintenance of HACCP, ISO 22000, and GMP standards.

Keep all laboratory documentation updated in compliance with food safety management systems.

Verify CIP (Cleaning-In-Place) and sanitation program effectiveness through microbiological validation.

Participate in internal audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Maintain accurate sample logs, traceability records, and laboratory documentation as per company requirements.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Food Microbiology, Applied Biology, or Veterinary Microbiology.

Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a microbiology or food quality control laboratory, ideally in the dairy industry.

Strong understanding of pathogen detection, TPC, coliforms, yeast and mold tests, and environmental monitoring techniques.

Familiarity with ISO 22000, HACCP, and GMP quality systems.

Excellent documentation, reporting, and communication skills.

Strong attention to detail with a high level of laboratory discipline.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, Outlook, PowerPoint) and laboratory data management systems.
