Position Overview:
Independent News & Media PLC. is seeking a talented OP-Ed Editor to join its editorial team. The ideal candidate will oversee opinion articles for both print and digital outlets, ensuring the section remains engaging, insightful, and aligned with Fortune’s editorial standards. This role involves managing contributor relationships, editing submissions, and producing original content.
Key Responsibilities:

Produce at least two original articles per week.

Review and edit submitted articles to meet Fortune’s editorial quality.

Stay informed about emerging issues and trending discussions online and offline.

Identify, recruit, and manage opinion writers with strong viewpoints.

Maintain regular communication with contributors to ensure timely submissions.

Ensure all content meets legal and ethical journalistic standards.

Collaborate with editors, designers, photographers, and cartoonists to maintain content integrity.
About You:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Journalism & Communications, English Literature, Business Administration, or Economics.

Proven ability to perform well under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong understanding of digital media trends and audience engagement.

Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills in English.

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Familiar with legal and ethical principles in journalism.
