Job Summary
Addis Ababa Silk Road General Hospital is seeking a skilled Radiologist to join our medical team. The Radiologist will be responsible for interpreting medical images to support accurate diagnosis and effective treatment of illnesses and injuries. This role involves analyzing X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, and other imaging studies to deliver precise and timely reports for referring physicians.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong diagnostic expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient-centered care. They will collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of medical services.
Duties & Responsibilities

Interpret and analyze diagnostic imaging studies including X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, and mammograms.

Review patient medical histories and symptoms to determine suitable imaging techniques.

Consult with physicians and medical staff regarding imaging-related findings.

Discuss imaging procedures and relevant medical history with patients.

Summarize and document findings in patient records.

Provide accurate and timely written imaging reports to referring doctors.

Collaborate with clinicians to support patient management decisions.

Ensure imaging procedures meet safety and quality standards.

Monitor imaging equipment and promptly report malfunctions.

Supervise radiologic technologists and enforce radiation safety measures.

Recommend follow-up imaging when necessary for precise diagnosis.

Maintain records and documentation in compliance with hospital policies.

Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and team meetings.

Contribute to the development and review of imaging protocols.

Educate and mentor junior staff and radiographers in imaging best practices.

Stay current with advancements in radiology through continuing education.
Minimum Specification Requirement
A. Educational Qualification & Work Experience
-
MD, Radiologist, from an accredited university or medical college.

Minimum of 2 years’ experience post-specialty study.
-
Valid/renewed professional license.
B. Knowledge & Skill Requirements
-
Proficiency in interpreting a wide range of imaging studies (X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography).

Ability to integrate imaging results with clinical data for accurate treatment planning.

Knowledge of radiology software, imaging systems, and safety protocols.

Skilled in patient assessment, diagnosis, and clinical decision-making.

Strong written and verbal communication for preparing detailed reports.

Familiarity with national and international capacity-building and research activities is an added asset.

Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Competence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Ability to offer emotional support to patients, families, and caregivers.
