As a key part of the “Vita GIF team” in Ethiopia to guide and manage the development of a data system for carbon finance projects that can capture data in the most effective and efficient manner and provides timely and appropriate reports and information.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
To provide leadership and direction to all aspects of data management and information systems for Vita’s GIF programme. This will include:
Data Capture
-To fully map all data collection points and determine optimal means and technologies/platforms to capture such data. Currently this is collected using KOBO, Excel, GPS, water sensors and Accounts IQ
-To develop and implement procedures and protocols for the collection of data required
-To develop and implement procedures to ensure and maintain data quality
Data Storage
-To design and implement best practice data storage systems and data access protocols
Reports
To develop data extracts to provide multiple different regular reports to Vita and its partners. These include:-
-Vita management data
-Accreditation data
– Stock control data
-Impact data
Systems Development
-To work closely with external agency to develop an integrated information system that can use different data sources to provide relevant and timely information, maps etc..
JOB REQUIREMENT
Education Requirements: B.Sc from recognized college/ University in IT, Computer science, Data systems Management, Economics, Statistics or very close similar field of studies
Work Experience
- Proven experience in data mapping and problem solving
- Proven experience in developing and control of data management systems
